how do you know they cover the ratchet mechanism now i like my halfords stuff even better if they cover the ratchets nowHalfords Pro, as above. Good quality, cheap (get a trade card) and a doddle to have replaced. They even cover ratchets in the guarantee now
I have some sealy stuff and Halfords, I favour the Halfords as they have swapped a ratchet with no fuss oh and a Ratchet spanner, ordered it in specially as it was a black one.been happy with these for what i paid

Might be worth checking out Toptul or Genius as good quality cheap brands. Ideally you want a made in Taiwan set over a made in China one as they tend to be higher quality - e.g. TopTul make stuff for Facom
For impacts I would recommend a Cro-Mo over CV as it is a more suitable material. I think most of the Kennedy impact sockets are chrome molybdenum, some of the laser stuff is too, but not all of it.
If you have more budget and you want snap on quality without the pricetag look no further than KoKen. Stahlwille is also very good.
Deltec is good stuff and made in the uk, there is also king dick, halfords is excellent for the money. Expert and facom is also good. Mac tools is the same as snapon, its just a smidge better than facom can be often had on ebay in the uk new much cheaper than retail as it dosent seem too have the same image and name as snapon so dosent seem too comand the same prices. Kennedy pro also gets my vote.
Mac tools isn't a smidge better than facom
It's exactly the same
They are the same tools with different names stamped on them but mac is 3 times the price for the name
And the Mac and facom drill and impact wrench can be had even cheaper in yellow with DeWalt written on it
