Some of the Draper ones have a 25mm outlet so I'm hoping they will be ok with 25m of 25mm mdpe to pump through.

Not agaisnt the rules is it. 3m from a water source or some such?



I'd have had that hole filled with water to make a dunking pond by now.

better to have a pipe a bit bigger than the outlet as its going a little way better flow will be easyer for the pump

I think it's finally sorted!
I've made the concrete sump and rigged up the pump from a mains supply by the house, that's connected via a 32mm flexible hose I bought from the aquatic shop along with a tank connector fitting.
It then pumps out down a 4" drain pipe into the woods through a French drain type pipe.
I sealed the electrical connection in an IP55 box then sealed that with some Magic Gel.

I'm sat here on a deck chair watching it go through a few cycles with a hose pipe stuffed down the hole and it seems to be working as intended.

The pump was rotating due to torque reaction when it started up, that would eventually move the float switch so it jammed on the side of the chamber so I made up an adjustable bracket out of unitstrut and some 10mm stud.
It seems to clamp it in place well now.
