As a follow up to my posts about an inability to swallow food/barium swallow/CT scan, the scan results came back to my GP the following day - and the results are not good.

They show a tumour on my lung which is pressing on my larynx and is causing my lack of inability to speak properly. It has also metastised to my liver.... Apparently this is new cancer, unrelated to the myeloma and is described by my GP as "aggressive", although no prognosis has been given. Given I've lost a lot of weight and am now reliant on family/neighbours and friends for support, I'm getting weaker day by day I've given "do not resuscitate" instructions to my GP. Not much pain yet but it's coming....

I'm just signing out of the Collective and want to thank all the Members who have made my time here so good, with help and sound advice. I'm not looking for expressions of sympathy , I'm pretty pragmatic about such things and I've had a good innings.

I may pop in from time to time but it'll be sporadic, and just to see if you're all behaving...

I know you're not looking for sympathy, but I'm gutted for you, John. I've enjoyed your input and humour on here for many a year and hope to still hear from you whenever you want a break from real life.

I'd suggest while the fingers still follow most of the instructions from the brain, keeping logging in and being "normal". Hell of a smack in the guts right now, but experience within my and the other half's family shows keeping up something of "normal" life helps with that life.
