Snow!

I am right fed up, still got my new snow boots...not been used since bought 5 years ago and dying to try them.

Just checked the forecast and look where I live, sunshine, bees out and flowers growing

Our forecast is always rubbish, we are 1 mile from the sea and 5 miles from the hills/mountains, it forms an area with it's own particular weather that can differ totally 20 miles north or south, you will probably be the same other side of the hills.

Yes, apparently we have our very own micro climate, due to the big cold lump of reservoir next door.

Loads here its great, bout 8" and still going took the dogs out Ice my boxer dog has always loved the snow and was mythering me to go out, he looks at me licks my face then looks outside whining, I thought it might have been too much for him, coz he is coming up to 13 with a tired heart but our old arthritic legs got us round, though he wanted to chase other dogs, the old fool, I was bawling and shouting at him to stop him from hurting himself but he is deaf too !!
My garden looks great in the snow it just looks like I have more snow with big drifts than everyone else, with it piled up on all the stuff.

I took the Jack Russells out yesterday on the beach. A big collie cross greyhound thing came bounding up. I was worried as he was so big but he only wanted to play. One of the dogs is 12 but she was chasing him around for ages - definitely showed him who is boss!

It was stuck in the middle of the road with its hazzards on, i couldnt see why though

It's the knobs behind the wheel that's the problem.

Went out for a walk with the family this morning and there's loads of trees down!
Saw a large bow fall up the road and felt the thud when it hit the ground about 100 yards away!
Later heard what I thought was a shotgun in the field and then a hell of a cracking as something very large came down! Got out the woods quickly after that one!

I found carrying a bucket of grit/salt really does help a lot. Even in the Land Rover there comes a time when ice will defeat you - a few handfuls of grit makes all the difference. A good shovel is essential.
I remember when I used to play in the snow in my old 110 the heaters were awful so we used to take a jerrycan full of boiling water with us. It fitted nicely on the centre seat!

My Collie absolutely hates the snow.. he walks a few paces and throws himself on his side and cleans his feet.. then stands up and repeats the process every six feet. A walk in fresh snow takes forever.

He's ok in the mountains as its usually hard packed and he's fine with that.. but fresh snow... nope 'don't do snow dad'!
