What is this "washing cars" thing you speak of?
I am equally confusedWhat is this "washing cars" thing you speak of?
dont put it in a dish neat and wash parts with it without gloves onIsn't TFR quite strongly alkaline? I'm wary of it and never used it. I usually spray the car with detergent solution from a garden sprayer, leave for a few minutes and then go at it with my brush on the hose-pipe with the little stick of soap inside it. This no longer seems to be a widely used method, but I like it.
It's a traditional ritual for car ownership that should be done at least twice for every car - it's often done on a Sunday. What is this "washing cars" thing you speak of?
Harsh stuff for sure. Many moons ago I used to work at a dealer where each car would get a wash before being given back to the customer. TFR was always used but not allowed on the red cars at it could turn them pink.Dissolved a radiator top hose using neat TFR in the engine bay of my daughter's first car. It did feel a little bit squishy beforehand but the TFR turned the surface a bit gooey to the touch. About a week after washing it went boom.
No point washing car in London....the front would already be dirty by the time I've worked my way to the back! What is this "washing cars" thing you speak of?
I though "car washing" was the modern adaptation of the Indian "Rain Dance".....It's a traditional ritual for car ownership that should be done at least twice for every car - it's often done on a Sunday.
Do it once when you buy a car and again just before you take photos to sell it, some folk do it between the 2 main washes but that's optional
Pro tip: make sure you move the car from where you washed it before you take the photos - a clean car on a sunny day standing in a pool of water makes it obvious you've just washed it for the photos !![]()
Well don't look at me, I ain't doing it.I though "car washing" was the modern adaptation of the Indian "Rain Dance".....![]()

Some of us are a bit weird it seemsI thought washing cars is a thing that main dealers do. And as I usually keep mine until they fall apart, I rarely buy anything from a main dealer.
Check out the AutoExpress review on ceramics. I can't remember which came top but not Meguiars (if you have any trust in such reviewsI read about Meguiars ceramic wax polish the other day, it looks a lot easier than the old wax on wax off process you just wet the car spray it on then rinse it off. Several videos of different ways to apply it but it does look easy, not cheap though..
