Got an odd occurrence and wondered if anyone had experienced similar or had an idea s to the cause..?
Purchased a Snap On 1/2" Impact Gun about 4 years ago with 2 Batteries, Charger & Soft Tool Bag.
My Dealer at the Time (Gone now lol as they often do) Gave me protective Boots for the Gun and Batteries.
She gets very little use and for the most part still looks brand new in part due to the Plastic covers.
So went to swap out Batteries as I always make sure the Spare is fully charged, Went to charge the flat one and couldn't find the mains cable for the charger so left that till today for a hunt round and still I can't locate it so decided to remove the Flat Battery from the charger until the Mains lead turned up but noticed when I pulled the Battery there was a wet area on the charger and front part of the Battery.
Odd so I removed the Boot from the Battery and it's covered in a sticky residue, Checked the fully charged one and that's exactly the same, Now I'm concerned
Just out of curiosity I removed the Boot from the Gun and that shows signs of the same residue so I now conclude it's definitely not acid so my thought are the Plastic boots for some strange reason are breaking down leaving this reside.
Ideas peeps ?
