Well as I said before, if its a tool you use daily it pays to get good quality kit, if its occasional use often the cost is then prohibative pro rata for what it earns, yup I would love a 18 volt milwalkee but I wouldnt give it enough work ever to earn its own keep so I would be on a loss.
Horses for courses, and yes a horse can do a ponies job but a ponie cant do a horses with out killing it.Arther

I have an18 volt Makita I got with 3 batteries for 70 quid new on offer and I've had it 4 years and they get used daily and still going strong

Experience varies, although Makita have been one of the better brands I have used.

Well you got a decent price then! Makita are brilliant kit, got a couple of old ones on NiCd's myself still refusing to die.

Well I got the impact ,New old stock, Forty quid, CTU4410, 3/8 drive. One battery charges but gets really hot whilst charging...the othe charges but stays cold, so looks like ones good, but at that monies had gambled on having to re cell both. So a winner ,dont know if it will be man enough for wheel nuts but will try and see.either way it will be used . Arther

Used the impact a few times now.defo a excellent buy although wont do wheel nuts but there again I do tighten them properly as they are on my 3.5 ton van, so v.pleased with it and thanks for all the advice fellas.Arther

Try tightening them a couple of impacts before undoing them, works with my 18V Bosch on the Vito's wheel nuts.
