climate change is a difficult choice, you don't do anything and its true then by the time you realise then its too late to do anything and your knackered

I think renewables and new technology such as the plasma experiments are the way to go but while we are getting there we may have to grasp the nettle and use gas/coal/nuclear

the trouble is that people get so religious about one or the other that the statistics for both in general view are complete rubbish, a scientific approach without any agenda is the only way to go but very difficult to achieve.

Don't know if it's still about, but there was a product made by Shell called TEEPOL that was rumoured to be the base for so many cleaning/shampoo products.
I used to buy it by the gallon to clear up the messes I used to make with car things.

I am commuting to a part-time job at the moment - on the train.
I am thinking of doing a course on pyschology, based on the nutters I see on my journey.

On Monday I saw the worst case of fake tan EVER! Makes Dickinson look like he's been kept in a cellar for six months.

The all the visible bits of the female in question were a completely even shade of Victorian mahogany, if not darker. Same colour as a quality dining table.
Face, eyelids, arms, hands, palms of hands.
It was a very workman-like spray job and most car re-builders would have been really pleased with the quality and evenness of the finish.
No runs, thin bits or spits. Superb.

Unfortunately, it made her look like a right mad cow.

Regarding the hair product advertisements referred to earlier, there is always, now, smallprint indicating the proof for the statements made.

'86% of 58 women agree.'

That is 49.88 of the 58 women asked, agree that whatever blather is the truth.

I pointed this out to the girls, and now they will not leave it alone. Every advertisement on the television is picked apart.

Strange 'Snake Oil' advertisements are scarce.

My daughter used to buy loads of different shampoos, normally recommended in some magazine, whatever happened to be the flavour of the month.
When I pointed out that it was all the same basic detergent with different colours and perfumes in and fancy containers she scoffed until I took her along as my 'apprentice' to do a job at a chemical works. She was shocked to see the different brands of shampoo all being produced on adjacent bottling lines including fabric conditioners and dog Shampoo's and they all started with the same detergent!
Now she just buys the basic stuff and says her hair is the same as its always been.
Me, I just use bar soap.

Cheese is similar situation.
Friends used to work for Kerrygold which is a local company to me. They say if you saw the cheese in "raw" state you won't want to eat it ! It is made in massive blocks and left to mature. Depending from where in the block it is cut a piece can be either mild, mature or extra mature. Also same block will be Sainsburys dearest and Tesco cheapest - it'll all the same.

There was a Nissan Leaf that had an electrical problem on a steep & narrow hill near us one week end evening. The breakdown service came out to move it, couldn't as the systems shut down, brakes on & locked. Apparently they rang Nissan help line to find out how to get in & disable everything, & they had gone home for the weekend. The road was closed until Monday morning when they could get the information needed.

My 4 step solution...

1) Get a tele-handler
2) Drive forks through the windscreen and lift
3) Move vehicle out of the way
4) Bill either Nissan or the car owner for trouble caused.

Waahay! Problem solved !

Trouble is, they'd probably come after you for:

The cost of clearing up the broken glass on the road and in the car
The cost of repairing or replacing the great car, which was in mint condition with only one minor fault
Compensation for the trauma of seeing pride and job being bent and lifted like a piece of scrap

And probably loads more!

My favourite will be well known amongst the Landy enthusiasts, the "hiclone". Basically a piece of tin that fits in the air intake to "agitate" the air thereby increasing oxygen content or some crap and making the engine more powerful and efficient

apparently that thing they call a turbo next to it dosent stir the air up enough somehow....... must be a pritty magical bit of tin,
