So a bit of back story....
My XC70 was working perfectly and I wanted to keep it that way so I decided to change the transmission oil (it's an auto and they are well known for being made of chocolate).
Having read the horror stories I decided to proceed with caution....car has 82k and full history. I opted for a sump dump and top up approach with 1,000 miles between the dumps....this changes about 3L of fluid at a time. The fluid is very expensive (3309) spec specific for these gearboxes.
Well got as far as 2 dumps and then the gearbox decided to do a dump of its own and go into limp mode.
I suspect the fluid change churned up the dirt in the box....tried fitting a filter, tried changing the fluid again and again.....nothing helped.
Then I discovered SeaFoam.....yea I know this sounds like a really bad utube advert for this snake oil but so far it's had an amazing impact.
So question is....has anyone else used this?
Helped that I knew the box was mechanically OK to start with but the impact has been quite amazing so far!
