Hi there,
Recently I tried using my old Cebora Pocket Turbo 130 to perform some fairly basic jobs. I am very much the amateur but even for me, it went terribly compared to my previous work a few years ago.
I couldn't strike an arc unless the settings were on 2 and Max (highest power). When it did strike I was getting balls of molten metal beading off the work and falling on the floor.
I did just about manage to weld a few bits together with a poor finish but good enough for what I needed. As the last bit went on I noticed smoke streaming out the top of the machine.
I have not yet taken it apart but essentially I am asking, are they worth repairing or should I just buy another? I expect it is somewhere in the region of 25 years old (it was my Dad's for most of that time and he did a fair bit over the years.)
Many thanks,
Jack
