Smith & Arrow Still in Business?

I tried to ring Smith & Arrow to discuss their abrasive range & the number on their website is not ringing through & a message says there is a fault. I did a quick google search & I found this site.

According to that they were dissolved 29/03/2011 but their ebay shop is still running.

Has anyone bought anything from them recently or have a working phone number?

Are you sure SMITH AND ARROW (UK) LTD is the same as the Ebay shop? The one on Ebay appears to be Smith & ARROW (Australia) Pty. Ltd

Smith and Arrow UK ltd are listed as 2811 - Manufacture metal structures & parts
Manufacture of metal structures and parts of structures in Edenbridge nothing to do with selling abrasives.

It's the same company if memory works they started in auz. That could be how there still training wind up uk company and trade online with off shore company

They could have an agent over here, but do all the admin in Oz.

I've searched the database we subscribe to, looks like Smith and Arrow have been dissolved. Ties in with the name of the director that used to come on here, so assume it must be them.
Not to say they are not trading under a slightly different name.

Does your database list other directorships that the guy may hold? It could be that the two Smith & Arrows are completely different companies, although with common directors and similar names.

The abrasives company is definitely Australian.

It does, seems to be the only Smith and Arrow around. He isnt a Director of any other company.

An Australian company wouldn't show up on the UK Companies House records anyway.

I think it was the UK franchise/daughter company/subisdary of the Austrailian manufacturer

Interesting that the description at Companies House is steel fabrication rather than engineering supplies. Perhaps they had the franchise as a sideline.

it would if the parent company wanted run a trading arm as a limited company in the uk, all limited company's operating in the uk must be registerd with companies house.

Yes, but it's Trading Arm Ltd that would be registered, not the Oz company. The Oz company itself doesn't show up on searches.

It's presence as a parent company may show up on Trading Arm Ltd's record, but you have to pay to see all the details and I haven't bothered!
