Smeary windscreen

My Renault Scenic has a huge windscreen. It was s bit grubby on the inside so I tried cleaning it, now in direct sunlight it's smeared really badly.
What's the best thing to clean it with?

Vinegar applied using scrunched up newspaper.

Methylated spirits works. I use generic glass cleaner from the pound shop and that works to keep it clean.

Any glass cleaner - but you've got to make sure to polish it all off, that's the hard work bit, especially with modern deep screens

I clean mine with Mr Muscle window cleaner, it’s not supposed to leave smears but it does. Then I wipe the whole thing again with a dry micro cloth.

I use a dedicated glass cleaner with the “proper” paper towel:

Apply washing up liquid in water using a cloth or fine sponge, rinse with clean water, again using a cloth, then dry with a chamois. For any remaining smears, isopropy alcohol, applied using your favourite mirror cleaning cloth, should get rid of most of the deposits, or a decent screenwash

warm soapy water on a cloth , dry with fresh mf towel or kitchen paper

then use a decent glass cleaner and new cloths ..repeat until clear , has to be fresh cloths or towels no good using an old pair of pants etc

I use pound shop window cleaner, applied and taken off with news paper, then a quick polish with a micro fibre cloth

Autosmart glass cleaner is unreal. spray, wipe off, and the buff with a clean dry rag. No smears. Not sure if they do it in smaller than 5l tubs tho.

I imagine most proper glass cleaners are good these days.

Don't laugh but cheap toothpaste does a brilliant job. Just a dab on a cloth goes a long way and will get rid of smears inside and out

Had good results with Nilco glass cleaner, but diluted meths is an old trick for cleaning spectacles and works well too.

I use the Autoglym glass polish. Seems a bit tricky to get hold of but worth the effort. Astonishing the difference it makes when the sun gets low in the sky.

Don’t laugh but try using tcut , do an area and let it dry off before buffing

I've had ago at it with some stuff from Halfrauds with new microfiber cloths. Looks loads better
