Erm! 'washing soda'? shouldn't that be Caustic soda? you'd be better off with fairy liquid.![]()
So are you just using a standard 2-3 volt battery charger like I have in my garage for the racing batteries?
I have been doing it recently to clean bits for my 9000......give a good dose of washing soda, I also start with warm water to dissolve it.......negative to the item iirr and positive to the return. I used two lengths of rebar 180 degrees apart and linked together with wire..make sure that you have good continuity with a meter..battery charger on trickle and leave for 12 hours or so...start to get an orange froth fairly quickly.....
Wasn't there a set of loose ball bearings in the bottom rusty groove? That sealed bearing looks a bit small to be taking all the load on its own. My rotary table, although much larger, has a small central bearing for lateral location then a set of loose ball bearings around outer edge under the table to take the vertical load and thrusts from cutting.
