I presume cross slide and saddle moves in the x and z directions? Can you only go up and down with that one in the video ?
It looked like a vertical slide attached to the bed instead of the cross slide.Well if you're ambidextrous I'd imagine you can go from x corner to x corner.
I don't see what you're getting at?
It looked like a vertical slide attached to the bed instead of the cross slide.
Yes and yes......
Basically, all you need is something to form an electrolyte, so yes that washing up liquid will be fine.
I've even used fairy liquid...
What about derusting with molasses ? Anyone every try it ?
Ive read about it but how do you remove the molasses afterwards? Got to be a harder cleanup than the washing soda and electrolysis method.
One thing to keep in mind is that the electrolysis converts rust to metal, whereas molasses removes the rust.
No, it doesnt.Electrolysis does remove the rust, its the rust from the workpiece that ends up covering the anode. Afaik nothing can convert rust back to metal, once its corroded thats that.
No, it doesnt.
It's a migration of valence electrons from one piece to another.
Hmm, so basically the end result is this:Thats a bit high falutin' for me, but bottom line is the rust disappears off the work piece and ends up covering the anode ?
