I wouldn't risk it with a LPG bottle, the danger is when the gas air mix inside the bottle falls to it's explosive level it could well go pop. That's why after disconnecting domestic gas meters (natural gas) they should be capped, when the gas air mixture inside falls between (5 -15% gas in air) it is a bomb.

I deal with much bigger quantities of gas on a daily basis
In 17 years I’ve never managed to pop a gas meter, NG dissipates much quicker than LPG which collects and hangs around for a long time
