Hi folks.
I've found myself in need of a new bit of kit - a small Oxy-Acetylene or Oxy-Mapp set.
I don't need heat too often (every couple of weeks) but when I do, I find that my Mapp Burner just isn't up to it.
Typically this is trying to get stubborn bolts cherry red (fine, hot flame needed) and lately I've started to experiment with some of the 2nd gen aluminium brazing rods like HTS2000.
I've looked at the portapaks like the Oxy-Turbo and Rothenberger Roxy and these would be ideal but I'm put off by having to use disposable Oxy canisters which seem very expensive - plus at £130-£200 the mini kits seem a bit dear when compared to legit OA sets - like the one from Weldequip or some of the lightweight kits off eBay.
Is it as simple as buying a OA torch off eBay and a couple of regulators or even a used "gas welding" kit which contain the key parts and seem to come up for around £60/£70?
Any tips or links would be most welcome - I'd normally just figure it out myself, but with Oxygen involved I'd rather be safe.
