The cellar is pretty good as regards moisture. The front wall is the dampest part, but I'd be siting a lathe along the back wall, which is as dry as any cellar I've come across. Aside from the puncture aspect, the biggest problem is ther is just no spare space, not even for something like a Warco mini-lathe. Two bikes, a storage rack and a parts washer and it's full. It was once a wash house for a row of terraced houses and is no more than two and a half metres square. The outhouse is an old outside toilet that backs on to the wash house.Outhouse, I wouldn't like to use a lathe in such a confined space.
What's the cellar like for moisture?
I have lathe and bike in garage, no punctures as yet! If you are going to make bits for the bikes, nice to have the lathe close for fitting trials.
