Small lathe ID?

A bit of collective brain picking if I may..

A friend of mine dropped round this evening with a little present, a small metal working lathe and three compressor pumps. The pumps are a couple of Broom Wades and a small aerospace pump so ID there is easy enough.

The lathe however has no markings on it at all (that I can find) and I wondered if anyone here recognised it? Carlsberg for scale..

I've got one of those! It's quite small, about 2/3 the size of the Drummond. B. I have.

Nice machine by turn of the century standards; did you get any loose gears with it, as there's no gears on the banjo?

Unfortunately not, though as I've never got my head around screw cutting it won't be the end of the world.

Provided they're fine enough and matching, pretty much any gears can be used(and the lead screw can be used for powerfeed).

Mine came with several change wheels, and a faceplate! If I can get it to take 8mm tools I might well mount it on a board as an indoor lathe.

Well I've given it a blast and it seems to be in pretty good condition, no discernible play in the head bearings or the ways. Under all the crap it also turns out to be pretty well painted too.

Make sure you don't forget to drop a couple of drops of oil into the bearings every time you use it!

When I first picked it up I assumed someone had nicked the oilers off it, after cleaning all the gunk off it I saw the plain holes.
