Small grind stones colours

I have a number of small grind stones that came with a couple of dremil type tools that I now want to use with my air die grinder.
They consist of a number of colours and I was wondering if someone could tell me what colour is for what purpose. There is pink, brown, grey and green. I assume the colour relates to the stomnes content and is therefore fairly standard.

I had some cheap horrible ones, useless things. I think the colour referred to the flavour.

Brown and gray are general purpose Al oxide. Pink (and white) are also Al oxide based, more of a premium grade that runs cooler for grinding HSS. The pink flavour is blended with something else (chromium oxide?) to further improve its cut
Green is silicon carbide typically for carbides, cast iron and non ferrous

id be careful using them in a die grinder as i think they run much faster than a dremel so you could find they shatter

good advice but a dremmel can run up to 35000rpm at full chat

isnt the word dremel overused though

i think a true dremel can but i have a cheopo copy which is still commonly called a dremel which cant go anywhere near as fast as a true dremel

bit like a stanley knife

All the craft knives I've used go just as fast as my genuine Stanley knife My die grinder collet is too big for any of the tools that will fit a Dremel type tool.

mine isnt ive made a collet to fit the smaller tools
