'Slugged' forks on bikes.

I've always wanted to try one of the early '93 to '98 Triumph Tigers with the detuned version of my Speed Triple engine (carbs) just to see what they are like. I just looked on Bike Trader at prices for the Africa Twins, one dealer wants £4695 for an '00 or 03 750!

the big adventure looking bikes will always hold a premium since long way road was made before that they were alot cheaper but the bmw brigade soon put the price up!

Africa Twin I thought was a dull thing to ride engine-wise, not just cos it's not fast but it just felt very characterless. Bloke who owned it didn't keep it long either.
Haven't ridden the Tiger but did think about one at last bike change. Have ridden a couple of injected Sprints though, really excellent mid-range to them, I assume the Tiger has that too. They're not sports bikes or edgy speed monsters or anything, more like punchy tourer/all-rounder (Sprints).

Good fun though, virtual bike-shopping...

Get an SXV550 full arrow system and a remap, job done. Vandebosh will do you nicely, my old pals at ProTwins had two full race spec bikes with full slick, problem solved!

The SXV and the KTM RC8 are on my next bike to own list i f ing love em!!!!!!!!!!

RC8 is a great bike, I'm not a fan of KTM but the RC8 is highly underrated IMO... I had an 2009 RC8R on loan for two weeks did not want to give it back... was for thanks for my effort in the 2009 BSB KTM Super cup, I was the chap that looked after bike 33 that year, we came 4th in the champion ship so I know a little about them...lol SXV well it's the balls! I have a WR450F 07 supermoto but would love the prilla!

I had a similar set up on a rather modified, tuned suzuki gs. The kawasaki forks would tend to hammer the f wheel into the downpipes prior to slugs. big torque, big brakes, but never had a problem with them. Still handled like a drunk hippo on a skateboard, mind. Seriously, I wouldn't bother. The Africa twin is a capable machine, tired suspension can be revived.
