Err, I wouldn't hang them like that. All that clamp is for is to stop you ripping the cable out when the lead gets caught or tripped. Long term handing the tool from it's cable will damage the cable internally, causing the plastic sheath to stretch and the strands to separate.yeah thats why they have a clamp on the cable like any plug to stop the wires being pulled out
Are they the blue ones or the power Con true 1 version
Which ever version make sure you have plenty of spare cash

That's exactly the type of thing that's in a B&D Pro 4.5" grinder I picked up years ago. It was supposed to be the start of a power connecting system they were going to use on all their Pro range of tools, but for some reason it fell by the wayside.
3 Monthsthat cable clamp is there as mechanical protection from snags and tugs. prolonged use could weaken the clamp (as most of them are just flimsy little plastic clips that snap) and then result in the cable being held in only by the connections. I wouldn't normally worry about it but I spent 3 months of my apprenticeship repairing broken power tools after the cables had been ripped out of them
and we know why . no flexibility 2 much strain on cable and plugMilwaukee power tools tried the same thing for a while, a female connector on the power lead plugged into the handle/body of the tool.
Don't think they still do it.
3 Months. I take it you were doing other things too (I hear sharpening drills is a common apprentice task), in three months, just changing leads you could probably replace around 3000
.
I've exactly the same grinder, and you say, it never took off.
Same here, my plug is an awful thing to try and remove and hardly a quick swap.
I ended up getting some connectors from 10 amp wilkinsons when I went with short leads on power tools. I've not had an issue with the connectors getting caught on things. I did it because I kept on getting cables getting messy when working under cars, also you can't accidently turn an angle grinder on if its not connected.

Sounds good.Job done, well, 6 tools done so far.
Now I have a 2 or 5 or 10 metre extension to suit where I am working.
No more dragging an extension reel up a roof, no more tripping over masses of leads on the garage floor.
Currently using the MK 3 pin rubberised plugs, if I find a similar 2 pin plug, I would swap it out.
Quite content with this arrangement.
All I need now is a rack on the wall to hang all the blessed things.![]()
