I see that most weekends, doesn't usually involve welding though

mishka, snowy, pleased to almost meet you.the rod used on the practice was thysson fox sum 3.25 3 runs,this one was same rod 4 mm.

I presume that is (the pipe & flange) without stopping, putting the new run over the end of the last one and carrying on all the way round like that till finished, and only then taking the slag off ?.

Oh Oh I didnt spot that one dohh....was begining to feal depresed with my overheads and verts... good spot paulie.. was trying to work out how the cap to the centres was kept so straight and tidy.....

paul i never really thought of it as cheating,the man wants a pipe welded i will always do it the easiest way possible,ie roll.the weave is actually about 11 45 one rod up to twelve,roll one rod etc. snowy you would make a terrible poker player.

d docks,im afraid it isn,t always possible to use rollers,those last 2 x 20 inch pipes were welded 5g.one was capped 7018 one 6013.the last is a 6 inch bolher phoenix,i think this and union are the same rod now,but i stand to correction. either way we dont seem to be able to get phoenix anymore f/j
