Skoda fabia issue

Evening all,
My inlaws have just purchased a 2009 1.4 petrol skoda fabia,it was overdue a service (or light had'nt been reset at last one),its been serviced but i cant reset the service notification on the dash,ive tried every variation google can come up with and even my foxwell nt500 vag specific eobd cant get it to reset, im a bit lost now,am i to understand it might be a skoda dealer reset as it was overdue?

Just to add the vehicle had the trip computer so no 0.00 button ,just the clock reset/adjust

Ive got a 2009 Roomster, there are instructions in the handbook on how to reset it, I'll have a look. It's a diesel, but I think it would be the same. Watch this space!

Switch off ignition, press the reset button on trip counter & hold down, switch on ignition & release the button then turn button to the right. The service interval display is then reset.

There you are, works on mine. You can only reset it when it comes on, not mid service. It uses the same button for reset trip & set clock. Press for reset, twist for clock from memory.

Take a photo of the dash board for me to jog my memory,
Does it have 1 or 2 buttons/trip sticks,

Only 1 button under the speedo, no buttons on top of steering cowl area

Should be,

Ignition on,
Ignition off
Press button,
Ignition off,
Release button
Turn button clockwise.

Unless it has mfd

But sometimes service reset will only work with hazards on on the the later bag vehicles.

On my Passat I just go into MFD and scroll to maintenance or something like that then choose to reset it.

There isnt a maintainence option on the mfd sadly,im going try the hazard light option later

Just looked in the manual and it is under Service in the MFD on my Passat rather than Maintenance that I said earlier.

Even if the Foxwell can not reset it VCDS should be able to do it, try asking on model specific forums if there is anyone local to you that could do it for a couple of beer vouchers.
