sip topmig 140

hi, I have a sip topmig 140, I have a problem when using it, the bolt that hold the spool of wire on gets tighter as im using it causing the feed to stop, should there be a spring between the bolt head and the spool? if not how do I stop this from happening?

Yes there should be a spring

A non setting thread lock like Loctite on the bolt thread can help with this, don't go overboard though as it will be a pig of a job to adjust.

Check the manual to see if the reel should feed from the top or the bottom, the smaller SIPs feed from the bottom so the reel won't self-tighten.

ive found the spring under the roll of wire, ive since changed the wire and put the spring between the wire and bolt and what a difference its made,
