For those of you that have one you will probably already be all too familiar with this!:- An inherent problem with these machines is that, through use, the top feed roller arm on the wire drive looses it's tension & no matter how much you tighten it you still can't put enough pressure on the bottom roller to feed the wire smoothly. You did used to be able to buy the top pressure arm but now you have to buy the complete gearbox/motor assembly! You end up wedging something in there to get the tension!!
SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED - you DON't need to buy another bottom feed roller (these last forever) simply change the lining in the torch. This won't totally cure the problem (as it's a poor wire feed design that causes it in the first place) but it will make a marked improvement in the feed.
