SIP Migmate Turbo 130 gas won't cut off.

Just bought an SIP Turbo 130 with a fault, which I knew about.
The gas free flows & won't cut off when the trigger is released.
Before I start to take a look at it, is this a known fault & what might the problem be ?

Bit of a guess, as I’ve never had that welder, but I think you will find a valve in the torch behind the button. Most of the small welders use this system & they stick. Take it out & clean it, work it a few times & I think you will find it’s ok, it’s only a slide & a couple of O rings. If all is lost I think they are available.

I have one of these the gas is controlled by a solenoid valve on the rear panel, this has probably stuck open. If I remember correctly it is powered off the main welding transformer. Check if the torch is live when the trigger is released to eliminate a welded relay. It’s a long time since I did anything to mine.

I had a similar mig problem once, when trimming the gas hose to fit onto the reg, a bit of material went down the hose and jammed the gas valve open.
