Hey, Im new to this forum I only got my first MIG welder 3 days ago, as im only 15 I couldnt afford a new one. I found a Cosmo 130 gas / gasless MIG which is the same as the SIP Mig mate 130.
When using it for the second time I set the tip of the torch against on the floor causing the wire to stop moving but the motor to continue turn then the fuse blew. I replaced it with a 13amp fuse as this was all ready in it. It worked again and I welded some flat bar (to learn how to weld) the next time I tried to weld the wire feed worked for 10 seconds then the fuse blew, so I changed it again. Now every time I pull the trigger the fuse blows after 1 second. I have put at least 10 fuses in it and the same thing happened. I have removed the positive and negative wires to the motor and it doesn't make a difference so theres nothing wrong with the motor. The relay also seems to be working ok as I looked at it last time i tried this and magnet/coil and switch worked ok creating a connection.
I am good at soldering and fixing electronics on anything that's broken as I have built guitar pedals as a past hobby so I could fix things and possibly improve some soldering joints by insulating them with heat shrink.
Any help on fixing this problem would be helpful cheers in advance.
