I should say I am a learner. have a SIP auto helmit really struggling to see to keep a straight line. Thought I would start by changing the front clear lence as it is badly marked. I have no problem in locating replacements, should there be a protective inside that will need changing?

No, that is part of the auto darkening cassette. You could probably polish it with Polywatch, I wouldn’t use anything harsher.

the adf lens is glass. theres a plastic protection plate outside and inside. inside rarely needs changed as it only collects dust and smoke then can be wiped off

looks like theres an internal lens fitted ,,, its just clear and flat , as mentioned above it will usually wipe clean , you go through about five outers to one inner , less if you get into the habit of setting your mask down properly and not filling it with grinding dust

It’s not an ADF, it’s an SWP.

You may need more light on weld area. Some glue an LED torch to the helmet. I often hold an LED torch in the hand supporting the MIG torch.

Looking at it on my PC and yes, there is an inner, replaceable cover lens.

Make sure there's no light shining inside the helmet from behind your head. Malkes it hard to see anything at all.

Take the inner plastic one out and give it a clean.
At the same time make sure the protective film has been removed from it.
