Whoops yeah red red brown would 220 3rd colour denotes number of zero 's so black mesns none, my excuse is I was rushing around and nearly forgot altogether

Yeah without doubt it was red red blackok didnt see that so for clarity just need to know if resistor was coloured red red black ie 22 ohms or was measured at 220 ohms (ie red red brown) if tha makes sense
thanks guys
If it still doesn't work it's probably the transistor gone, the wire feed usually slips if there is a jam or they birds nest at the rollershadnt use welder for a while plugged in pressed the switch on mig handle wire didnt come out could hear motor worked but then stopped. on releasing tension on wire feed wire for some reason wire was jammed in liner so i guess motor stalled and blew resistor. have since bought new liner for euro torch and blown airline down it so i hoping its blown as wire stalled out the motor. will let you know and thanks for help . oh and also the liner in it was blue which i stand to be corrected was for .8mm wire but the wire in it was 1.0mm so the new liner i have bought is a red one which i think is designed for 1.0mm wire
great stuff, thanks for posting resultok thanks for what little it cost ,have replaced the resistor , the transistor and the diode next to for the princely sum of 1.13 fronm rs and now wire feed works great. also snooper you were bang on although old transistor a tip35c looked good on testing out of circuit was blown which i guess in turn is why the little resistor blew in the first place . so thanks all can get backing to welding cheers
and for pennies, it don't get better then thatyes happy welder works again
