Happy new year all!
Meanwhile while trying to avoid Christmas in the shed my Autoplus 215 started to play up by not switching off the power to the torch or the gas/wire feed. I first thought the switch had shorted in the torch so undid the euro fitting to find out that did nothing. The gas and wire were still running and the wire speed adjustment made no difference. After a couple of mins I smelt burning and turned it off. With the covers off all looked ok apart from the big ceramic resistor on the small board screwed to the base had melted its solder and burnt its way though the case of the relay next to it! The welder has had little use although its about 6yrs old (still on the same reel of wire!).
Any ideas?
