Hi,
I have a SIP 2300F auto-darkening helmet that I've owned for a couple of years. I've come to use it after a couple of months of no use (due to lockdown) and found that the auto darken function is not working properly. Essentially it stays dark as soon as the batteries are installed - almost like one of the sensors are giving a false reading. When I take the batteries out the glass goes transparent again. Was working fine the last time I used it and it's not been dropped or anything like that.
It's not the batteries - I've replaced these for brand new ones and checked voltages - all ok. I've tried adjusting the sensitivity/delay etc but to no avail.
Any ideas? Is it possible to buy the controls alone does anyone know as it seems wasteful to have to chuck the whole thing away?
It's still a current product so I'm tempted to email SIP and see if they have any suggestions.
