SIP 150 - gas won't shut off

Have a problem with the trigger not shutting the gas off - other than that it all worked OK but got sick of turning the gas bottle off at the regulator between welds. I've bought a new torch and lead and all works now but wondering if anyone has had this happen before and could it be repaired?

Sounds like that machine has a valve in the torch operated directly by the trigger.

They are prone to sticking and a cleanup with WD40 or suchlike may clear the problem.

I got so tiddled off with the same thing I converted my SIP to euro torch but up till conversion I ended up slapping it against what I was welding to shock the valve into closing

I tried the WD40 thing but it did nothing to improve the situation on mine

Is the gas valve in the handle on that machine ?
Thought I remembered some of them having an internal gas valve
