sip 130 wire feed prob

I have a SIP 130 MIG welder and the wire has just stop feeding. I was just in the process of changing the wire and now it wont feed. Pulled the feed assembley apart and the motor work fine. I just get a clicking from welder when i press the trigger. Some please help i only have to bits of weklding to do argghhh

Check the wire connections in the torch handle, one might have worked loose. You can test the motor on a 12v car battery, taking two leads from the battery to the two terminals on the back of the feed motor, if it runs it ain't that.
Sounds like a Printed Circuit Board problem to me, common on SIPs (aswell as a multitude of other things!).

Another thing; if it is an earlier model with the push-in buttons for the power on the bottom of the front panel, at least one of these buttons needs to pressed in - if they are all in the 'out' position you won't get any feed.

Thanks tried the motor thing. can you buy new boards?. the connections in the torch handle seem ok. I have only just borrowed it.

You can buy new boards yes but they are forever swapping & changing them so there are a few different boards for the same model of machine! (denoted by a number stamped on the back of the board).
As a temporary quick fix you can try cleaning the contacts of the relay mounted on the board. This will be an oblong grey coloured, or clear plastic, thing on the board. Remove the plastic cover & clean the contacts with some fine emery paper. This may allow you to get the job finished.
