Sincro nsm and zanardi welder generators

I Was looking at getting a Honda petrol welder generator, I rented a sincro one before and I was impressed it was dc welder very nice.
I also rented a zanardi one it was ac welding output it was horrible to weld with,it was the welder not the ac, because an oil cooled welder also ac was miles ahead of it to use, also there was a switch to change from welding to generator which drove me mad no good for work at height.
No experience of nsm looks similar to sincro .

Honda vs Loncin engine any opinion

I’m aware diesel is cheaper to run but there a grand more and I have a pto generator for big mobile work I only want this for handy jobs but need to run a big grinder so that rules out the moza magic welds

Any opinions reliablity etc? Thanks

Personally In the welder generator space I’d put my money on a spitfire get the dc model or a shindawia though both aren’t cheap by a long way depends also on the size of job your wanting to do as there are a couple of battery welder options out there. Both mentioned welder generators will survive just about anything. Stay way from the mosa magic weld it’s not worth the money. Other option would be a step hill or loncin 6.5 kva generator and a small inverter welder to go with possibly a much more flexible setup.

have a geny,with a honda gx 390 eng,4 outlets,230 x 2 and 2 110,never used the welding points, alway use my inverter kemppi stick and my now kemppi mig 200,no problems,got it second hand 8 years ago,never lets me down,only serviced by myself every year,oil filter and plug,touch wood lol

MacGregor’s in Inverness just quoted me £3650. It will last for ever the two we had at the company i was working for temporarily we’re beaten battered uncared for wrecks but they just kept on going and going.

I’m personally looking at going the separate generator and welder route just now as it’s more flexible and quite a bit cheaper.

We've been using them spitfire ones for 15 years of more .
Only a couple have been properly killed - run over or crushed !
The sincro bits ( 200 amp dc ) do need new bits(diodes ?) Quite regularly .
others we've tried just don't last .

I run those Sincro Spitfire units on my rental fleet. Can’t beat them for value for money.
