Signs like vehicle number plates... but bigger?

We live opposite a row of old six miner's cottages, all but two are holiday homes or holiday lets, and the one directly opposite has adjacent parking and the transient guests have a habit of driving into our driveway to then reverse back into the space. A few years back we even had a taxi driver with a flat tyre park up and wait for his mate to bring a spare wheel...

I've put up a polite notice pointing out that this is our driveway and asking that it isn't used for reversing or turning - except for visitors to our home.... but I need something less subtle. Less subtle and much bigger than A4.

We can get number plates for the trailer, etc., made up locally but does anyone know if you can get bigger? I've looked at online number plate suppliers but they're all the standard sizes; a reflective black on yellow number plate would be ideal.

Perhaps two number plates would work; one saying 'NO TURNING' and the other 'NO REVERSING' but I don't know if you can squeeze that many letters in!

Yes, we've thought about that - and it's something to give serious consideration to, also something I could easily fabricate - even just a single arm might act as a deterrent. There's a very, very secure post (I think telegraph pole) but its at the wrong side to have a gate that people would see when they turn off the road through the village and then turn into the lane.

Any sign maker can do that for you.

a sign wont stop them doing it it means nothing unfortunately;y i regular got people reversing in to my drive to turn round . just shut the gate all; the time now and they come down the lane and have to back all the way back out so they rarely do it now

If you don't want to gate it, you could, if the geometry allows, create a very narrow passageway with a removable post. So that it is, to you, is easily passable in a straight line but to anyone trying to turn makes it nigh on impossible.

It isn't constricted in the least... I don't know where you got that impression from; plenty of space in the lane to reverse - cars can actually pass each other in it.
