So I was trying to learn the alphabet last night. SWMBO tested me this morning and I have managed to learn 14 letters. lots more practice required.

Unfortunately there are quite a few 'dialects' in BSL. At least 14 different ways of saying "Holiday", for example. I can order a coffee, describe myself etc but not really converse in it.

A couple of years ago I tried to have a BSL conversation with a deaf person, only to discover they only spoke Polski Sign Language.

I wouldn't be surprised if actually speaking to anyone in the future would be needed, as the world seems to be progressing towards people becoming telephone zombies texting each other even when the other person is within speaking distance.

Ok so slowly improving, I am at about the level of a 2-3 year old 18 letters learnt by random selection.
SWMBO still beats me with her 26 and 20 + words ( that she has shared so far, bitch) but it takes time.
