Evening
I want to make a new gate for the side of my house leading into the back garden. Metal frame with wood effect plastic boarding, somthing like bellow without the curve and spikes etc.
Never built a gate before so a few questions before I start ordering materials.
The boards at 25mm thick. I don't not want any fixings showing on the front. Inital thoughts in my head are a 30mm box section frame, then on the back some flat bar welded onto the box section which the boards will sit against and be screwed to from the back? Do I need to brace the corners to stop any flex or will a flat accoss the middle be enough?
This isn't going to Weigh a huge amount so not sure how to go about hinges, currently they are screwed to the brick work, could I do the same again or is best to fix a post to the wall then fit the hinges to that for mlre support, could imagine the top hinge pulling the screws out of the wall over time?
