Side entry regulator on boc bottles

Just got a boc bottle, my regulator is a side entry, I am not fussed about the gauges being at an angle but I want to use a flow gauge which will not be vertical. Is it possible to remove the outlet and swap it with the brass plug bellow it? This will put the outlet in the right place. Think I already know the answer as its a lot of pressure to me messing about with.

If you use a side entry reg on a top entry bottle it won't allow the use of a flow meter but you can buy a simple brass right angle adaptor which will have everything pointed the way it should be.

I did see one of these on eBay a while ago so need to have another search for one

Don't take the plug out of the reg and connect the flow meter to it, this could well be a high pressure outlet and you could end up putting 230 bar into your flow tube which will cause it to explode. Under no circumstances should you mess around with regulator connections.
