shower wiring question?

my old shower gave up, didn't do bad considering it gets used 3/4 times a day for the last 2 years.

i accidently brought a different model to the one i had, mine didnt have the model tag on it so wasnt sure,
turns out i brought a 8.5se instead of the 9.5se i had in, all the plumbing and connections are the same and its completely identical, other then the power.

ive attached a chart showing the cable differences between the two,
will the 8.5se need the electrical side of things changed?

ill return it and get a 9.5se if it does, i only want a straight forward swap

No, should be fine as you are going down in size. (As long as what is there already is up to scratch!)

If it's still in the box I would change it for the 9.5, not because of the wiring but in Winter when the incoming water is cold you will notice a fair difference in the power of the shower.
I did the exact same thing, an 8.5 was the only one I could get to replace my 9.5 without ripping tiles off, it's ok but not as good.

obviously lightbulbs and some more very basic repair / replace but I am not sure were the line is drawn in this area, I should suspect with something such as this once modified in anyway from original? Its something I myself should check up carefully on rather than crack on and of far greater risk to safety as a job than other Gov. regulated stuff LOL

you know what I mean, the new one wont get as hot as the old one in winter etc. that said I think the shower I have is an 8.5 and its not too bad. was hoping to have it upgraded when the last one went pop but landlord wouldn't pay for it

not in the really cold weather it wont, I can stand under mine on full power in the depths of winter and it is comfortable, when I lived with my father I couldn't turn his up above about 8/10 as it was too hot. both triton showers just his is a 9.5kw I think

Yeah but, on the other side -------- I thought my brother in law,who has several degrees and is a qualified teacher etc, (not sure what in) would not have wired a 10kw cooker with .5/.75 mm flex??? ------but he did.
I know having degrees that are in all kinds of subjects doesnt mean you know everything but surely, it mean you have SOME common sense .

I have common sense, and that's to stay away from house electrics one of the few things id happily pay someone else to do. (Not this though, uncle did it)

Difference wise, it does get to the right temp just varies how high you have to turn the dial for it to be hot ... so i don't have the scorching hot setting sometimes.
not a massive difference in pressure so it'll do , Beats having a bath.
