Shower tray repairs any one had one ?

Got a problem with a shower tray

A couple cracks have appeared in this situation I'd normaly smash it out and replace but being tiled in and no access to under neath it's going to be a long job

Looked online and there are a few places that can do it had 2 quotes back both look in the same region of cost but better than spending 250 on new shower tray with parts and replacing tiles as well as getting access to under neath to mount the shower waste

Only thing worries me is one quoted and said will be fine
2nd quoted said will do it but won't warranty the repair as how the cracks are

Any one had this sort of thing done and does it last ?

What is the tray made of ?

Resin I think not ceramic

unless you grp it or araldite it that thing will leak for fun

as it also means strip off your tiles row of tiles as well you might as well rip out and replace so pick your punishment

This is there procedure and yes I agree looking at replacing is a way I'm thinking but it's not the cost it's the time taken replacing and then making sure it water tight after

Not sure if it's valid but I was going to fill a couple small but deep scratches in a shower tray with some resin designed for the purpose. It turned out that, once I'd applied the stuff, the old tray was far from white. I was doing the walls and door anyway so just replaced it.

water has got through anyway what damge has been done that you cant see

same with the plastic type thats only chipboard the support has gone has got wet

its your choice and money but i wouldnt not with showers they take alot of water and can cause enough damage

This company did my Motor home one, but they completely respray it so it should never crack again, looks brand new

Lady friend of mine had a shower cubicle installed, fibreglass base I think it was. Fully tiled in place, look very nice. A few months later it is showing cracks just like yours.
Turns out the base wasn’t supported underneath, just sat on the outer edges, and thus started to fail. Long story short the builders who installed it had to rip it all out, reinstall it properly with full support underneath and then retile most of the bathroom. They did the work for free but refused to pay for the new shower cubicle unit, for some reason I’m not privy to.

We had a stone resin one that had a fine crack from the plug hole outwards, it was fairly new so the manufacturer sent someone out to look at it, they gave us a new tray. I sold that on eBay
No way was I going to rip it out as the builder had made the room to small and I had to notch the stud wall to get it in
I fixed it with some GRP and resin underneath and filled the crack with repair paint. It never leaked after that but you could just see the crack if you looked closely.
