Shower tray fitting

One for the bathroom fitters , is it practical to fit a low profile shower tray to a solid floor if I excavate clearance for the trap and waste pipe ? It is in a bungalow the waste pipe will exit outside and have a rodding ,cleaning connector in case of blockage , any caveats or guidance welcom

Why not go one further and fit a floor former so you can have a completely flat floor?

Showers rarely block, normally the hair is the issue building up in the drain, that's my experience.

Had a similar issue when fitting a shower tray. Resolved it by building a small timber platform topped with exterior ply. Built into the platform some access points to get at shower tray drain, which came in handy with three women in the house. Had to remove the outlet pipe from the trap several times to clear hair.
