Shower playing up....

Hi guys, needing some advice again..
Our shower has started running just lukewarm.
The hot pipe feeding it is hot from the boiler to the mixer
I waggled the on off lever backwards and forwards vigorously a few times and now it's just hot , not as hot as it usually gets.
I guess it's the mixer ,is it fixable?

Needs stripping down descale and a tap grease

If it was stiff when turning hot to cold may have torn the splints on shaft , might be able to get spares for it is there a maker name ?

Cheers, I'm guessing that the blank underneath unscrews for access to the valve?

The tap itself is free moving the on off lever is slightly tight.

The supply pipes sometimes have flow limiters in them, blocking off?

Yeah whip the head of the valve off then the lever usually Allan keys then unscrew the main body , might be 4 screws holding it on , then gently pull the insides out be a few o rings in there !

You'll find its scales up ! but once cleaned and greased it will be good to go

Is it thermostatic? If it is the cartridge may have gone.

Don't think so, it's just a mixture stuck on the other side of the airing cupboard wall which houses the boiler.The hot pipe from the boiler to the mixer is red hot , it's just not getting through the mixer, I'm going to strip and clean ..... then I might even start work on the mixer.

when you take it to bits you may find the plastic carrier for the waxstat thingy has broken up, take loads of pics when you strip it.

Take pictures of the cartridge, with a tape measure showing the major dimensions

And the will ID it and tell you how much. I use them weekly in the summer

Got as far as this...is it a special spanner to get the cartridge out?

Is there a locking ring? Quite often a few taps and it unscrews, if it’s held on with the face plate it may wiggle out now
