Shower Panel Board

Just got quoted £196 per sheet for glossy white shower panel board from a local company. Does anyone know where I can get decent board at a more reasonable price?

I'm not sure, doesn't specify the brand, just says: 1200X2.4M SHOWER PANEL POLR WHI GLOSS UNLIP PLY

From William Wilson so would have thought it would be decent stuff but that price seems crazy. We'd need 3 sheets of it as well to do the new shower enclosure.

Thanks, that's a lot cheaper. My wife would prefer tile effect board so they might do that which would be a win win.

Yep, the stuff with the pattern my wife likes is only 3mm thick so need to keep looking.

They had some at the William Wilson shop and recommended it only be used for splash back.

there is also cladding board as well instead of a full sheet

That's about the tight price.... They are all **** though, make sure you seal it properly

We used the large coloured acrylic sheets ( we saw them in b and q but got them direct from the manufacturer) when we did our en suite - a really nice shiny finish, and so easy to clean with no grout. I (and more importantly my missus!) wasn't convinced about the longevity of the ply based ones if water got round the back, though most people i spoke to about them said the wooden panels shouldn't cause issues if fitted right.

They were more expensive but I'd choose the same again.

I only use Multiboard, it's £120 for an 8x4 sheet but can get it hydrolocked (tongue and groove) so you can't see the joint in the middle

Any idea where you can get it for £120? I think that is the brand we are looking at and it's £195 in Fraserburgh.

Got the last lot from James Hargreaves, but Plumb Center is same price

Hydrolocking adds £20 a board and anything other than a standard finish is a special order and can take 6 weeks

£120 is list price, second line is the std flat board, I don't have an account so the 25% discount must be standard

William Wilson gave me 30% off for the panels in the end so £135 a sheet, still expensive but it is what it is and the Mrs is happy. The scary thing is this is for an ensuite and still have the bathroom to do next. The cost runs up pretty quick however my Mrs has wanted to change these since 2005 so I've done well to put it off this long.

Before you install it see how flat it is ACROSS the sheet.
We used Showerwall 900MM wide sheets with a T&G edge (not impressed with it but it's what she wanted) we had it laying flat on a bedroom floor for a few days before we fitted it. It looked straight length wise but we didn't check across the sheet and some were quite cupped.

The Mrs took the old shower board which had a marbly effect on it to the refuse tip and the guy there grabbed the board for himself. It was probably 15years old and still in good condition so hopefully the new board lasts as well.
