Made a start on a little trolley for my hire/shop EWM, I know it's an easy carry but it's not so easy with a 5kg spool and all the cables and a bad back.
Realised I don't have the fixed castors for the back in stock so finishing it will have to wait. No bottle platform, I prefer to run long hoses and leave the bottle chained to the wall.

It will get some hooks under the handle for coiling leads, need to find my bit of 10mm round bar that mysteriously disappears as soon as I start looking for it!

Don't you use the torch switch on yours.

I do now (as of today), got some DC jobs in this week and dragging the pedal around the bench drove me mad!!! SO got the CK button and holder, shame the cable is so stiff, well not that stiff but another lead to wrap in the cover! Anyway, I have always used a homemade pedal switch on my old Tig sets or the OEM torches, the buttons were so stiff it was hard to press/start and not upset my hand, i.e stuff the tungsten into the pool first off, anyhow this CK button seems ok so I am happy, funny thing is I used lift tig for years and never had any issues and forgot how easy it all seemed, guess with all this new tech (HF that is) I kind of missed the button without knowing, simple is best

Rarely do I use my pedal now. Anything aluminium that's able to be done sitting at the bench otherwise it's always with a switch. I don't find the 2 core cable that noticeable in the sheath it's still very flexible.
Welding carts on the whole have no place in my life. My welder has two lives and neither one demand a kart. It either sits on the shelf next to the cooler where the torch reaches Every point on the big bench nicely or its disconnected from the cooler and in the back of the car with a travel cylinder and gas cooled torch.
My welder weighs 8kg so it doesn't need wheels.

Know what you mean about the trolleys, only reason I have them is it's easy to wheel the whole lot into the corner, welding only forms a small percentage of what I do in the bike shop so the space is needed the rest of the time, bike ramps and tools take up fixed space so pays to be able to shuffle the rest around, I often wheel the mig outside for quick jobs so it saves a load of time setting up, wheel out, plug in and weld, no placing it on the bench and so on. Saying all of that the two main welders here in the main yard do form a large part of our workflow (I have many roles here) those come on wheels and the old ark the clamp clocks in around 8kg..lol (kidding, but prob not far off lol)

Here's mine, main part is made from an old commode chair (minus the commode thankfully) I found in the skip at work. Some people will throw anything away

Here is a welding trolley i finished recently for my R-Tech AC/DC 160Amp Tig welder. i started out with a length of 1" box iron and used what i could find after i ran out of that! i just need to make up a few brackets to bolt the welder down to stop it moving.

A piece of ribbed rubber matting to go under the gas bottle would protect your nice paint job - I got a piece and it works a treat

I saw the Machine Mart one when I had my old Clarke and just happened to have some Dexion shelving sitting around. I sort of scaled the image so I knew roughly what dimensions to use and knocked it together. It was quite easy and I was surprised just how good it looked once complete. Saved me £60 too.
Don't need it these days as the Porta has it's own wheels but it comes in handy once in a while with the cheapo Cut50 (or is it a Cut40? Not sure) plasma cutter I have.

Satisfying, isn't it? Hope you're going to trim the axle to length, it's just at ankle-catching height.

Wonder how many on here actually end up with any scrap, most pieces seem to end up being used one way or another eh, usefull trolley

Looks very nice but I hope you haven't bought them wheels new!.
I often wonder when I go to Asda am I buying the trolly for £1?

Just got round to "finishing" it. Sheet metal work's a bit suspect on the tool tray, never done much with it before so cutting it and welding it was new to me - kept blowing through at first but I think I've got it sort-of dialled in now.

Could do with some paint and something on the edges of the tray, but I'm happy with that

Yeah unfortunately I had to buy the wheels from Toolstation, no abandoned trolleys near us

Had a few hours spare so Knocked up a new cart for the Rtechs this afternoon, nearly finished.

Just have base shelf to finish for the tig cooler. Some sort of storage for filler rods. Going to add a rack for the grinders too I think

A moment of clumsiness could see that top inverter on the floor.
I'd put a couple of small hooks one on each side of the trolley and get a strap over it to hold it down.
Tidy job though.

Should've mention, that is the plan richard. Put it up there so it's easy to remove for mobile use if the torch isn't long enough to reach
