Very, very, very big!

Not all of it is for the trolley also looking to reinforce the garage door and surround. And some extra for just-in-case.

Ive recently got a couple of cylinders on the volkszone deal from BOC, but they are a fair bit heavier than the previous cylinders that I was using, so I decided to get a sack cart to move them about.

but as space in my garage is limited, I decided to narrow it so its just the width of the cylinder, so cut up the parts of the cart

for holding the corner of the foot in place I used intergrips

I'd like to have taken some photos of my welding but it was my first welding with argoshield light (Ive previously used CO2) in windy conditions, so it looked pretty awful.#

and for holding the cylinder in place, I ended up using a ratchet tie down from toolstation

Have you reduced all that box section to a pile of scrap and off-cuts then? or has the welding trolley taken a bit of a back seat while you learn the ins-and-outs of the new R-Tec 3-in-1 (all though I can talk... I need to make a new trolley and haven't got around to even taking the base measurements yet!).

Here are two that I made a few years back out of 40mm x 3mm SHS, the MIG is slightly different to the TIG trolley in that there is a T post at the bottle end holding the cables and a helmet, the TIG one also has half moon shaped holders for the cables.

More pics of the build would of been good but it's a nice job. I've made 2 this year. Now. Could be a 3rd coming soon.

Here's the first I built in March. The second was a quick copy build of this and the 3rd will be the same if I get the job.
I've made em in the past with other pumps and designs but this is the best design yet.
IMO.

Nope, you are right I've not done that.

Defo on the want list, but not required for my need list, my runs are never that long to need the cooler, saying that I've got a Tig finger that I use now and then, also I use the super massive LARGE cups but small size as they run a little cooler and I can hold them pen style

Everything about watercooling is nicer. Owning a 200amp acdc machine is pointless unless you can use 200amps every now and then. In order to do that you either need a wp26 with the ergonomics of a club hammer or a wp20 neat little torch consistently cooled by water. The other thing is when I've finished a run I can remove the shroud from my torch with a bare hand just a minute later. I would not advise doing that with gas cooled. It's not just for long runs. They can be cheap to make if you find a deal on the pump. I use procon pumps now so not that cheap but they are the best for the job IMO.

When I built mine I tried to get a Procon pump but over here in Oz they are very expensive and I couldn't get a used one anywhere so ended up with the pump that I did. I spoke to a distributor of the Procon pumps here and he said that although the Procon pumps do come with a over pressure valve , it is not meant to reduce the pressure constantly, however they do have a model that is quite suitable, but as I said it was expensive, all up I would have had to cough up about $250 for the pump, coupling and motor as against the $100 up up price for my complete system. One day I may get a water cooled torch for my big MIG and connect it up to it, I don't use my TIG anymore because I handed in my rental gas bottle, most of my welding is MIG so could not justify paying out $200 per year just for the Argon gas rental.

I build a pressure release run off pipe with tap on my coolers going straight from the pump to the tank so that you can easily set any water pressure you like down the torch but the pump always remains pumping the same pressure so it's safe on the pump. You just choose how much goes down the torch on the tap.

Spurred on by envy and a feeling of total inadequacy at some of these carts, I leapt into action and knocked this up this afternoon...
Take a KitKat display trolley - which had been doing sterling service as a holder of soap powder and other crap by the washer/ drier for a decade

It had been so long since it was put there, I'd forgotten it had castors.

Add some green wire shelving which was kicking around, but turned upside down so they have a lip all around...

The shelves were almost a perfect fit for it - just supported by some 1" copper pipe at front (with Jub clips) and resting on wire stays on the rear. The whole thing tightened up with plenty of tie-wraps, the bodger's friend.

And, here we go...

It will do for now, simply as proof of concept, or something like that. I might improve it, if I cba.
