Carlton ?lotus or 3.0L?

3.6 and two turbos It's now in a friends garage (with a pit which I needed to pull the box out) the clutch was a bit sick however it's finally coming back together so should be home soon

But the love of my life is a Monza (also in another friends garage as I have a mini in bits and her old Polo taking up most of my garage at the moment!!! Polo situation should be rectified shortly but the Mini....... that's probably going to take a little longer)

my working area,

to be honest i only finished making my first proper welding bench today,
for the last few months ive been scaring up the garden with grinding sparks and weld flare.


so i had to bite the bullet, got shot of all my guitars,decks and drumkits and set about welding up the precut lengths of 2" angle i had,

found some 8mm plate at work, although not quite big enough for the frame but a bench none the less.

after a few hours i thought "i need a chair".

so dug out some offcuts and scap wood, and here we go,

the woodburners will be rolling off the line in no time,lol

note the bottles of fermenting homebrew on the dj unit,

cant beat some spring elderflower champagne.lol

Here's mine. This pic was about 6 months ago, mid-moving-in. Looks pretty similar now, just concreted the floor fully and moved in more crap...

Still haven't finished moving the things I hardly ever use in. One day!

Size = cost though. That 3.5k of concrete right there, just to fill in the 'gaps' in the floor. Ouch. Then 3 phase, sealing the roof, water systems, plumbed in air, stainless flues for heating etc etc...

...and THEN come the tools!

Makes me smile though. Al.

I spied that Baileigh toy too. I've a brochure of theirs somewhere with ring rollers in it. Lovely looking stuff but they charge like diseased goats!

There is a lot of leeway in the prices if you're actually going to buy something straight from them (Chad) in the UK. The prices are pretty good compared to other industrial stuff.

Having said that, would I buy another Baileigh tool? Unlikely. It might be sold as All-American quality but I think most of it comes from south of the border...

Possibly south of the Mongolian border.

To be fair, it hasn't had any faults in use yet, just very very bad tolerances when putting it together. So fingers crossed the business end was put together in a different factory.

That sort of fits. After I rang for a catalogue etc. I had someone ring me once a week for a month asking if I wanted to buy something!

i guess it depends on the sort of work your doing that dictates the workshop size. my garage has been used as a garage,for growing tropical plants, cough cough,lol a studio for drums,guitars,dj decks, now back to workshop.
but ive gone full circle. and shes going to be used for now to build wood burners from old gas bottles. i was destroying the lawn slowly but surely, now i can pigeon **** come rain or shine. plus it gives me more time to perfect finer detail and room for all my jigs and fixtures.

here's a few pic's of the work shop, it was way different when we first arrived at ths shed! full of old mouldy carpet and swallows!!!

storage for parts are up stairs, i do alot of rally shell fabrication
