thats a drill and a half

Old timer that BS. It was my grandads, he was a blacksmith. It was driven by a hand crank on the side by man power and had a 4 foot flywheel on top. I motorised it and put on a 4 speed gearbox, reamed out the bushes, bigger shaft and MT4 chuck. It was 2 speed before so now I got 8 fwd speeds and 2 reverse. Dunno how old it is its got DML stamped on the side. It now drills up to 2 and a half inch dia holes.

There is a Britania lathe in one of the other pics, bad pic I know, think it maybe older than the drill.

Its been worse actually oz, especially the day I left the pit boards off and fell in the dam thing.

Ok, got a new digi camera for Christmas so I'll disclose my mess, I do tidy up sometimes, promise.

What era shed Bsmith, certainly corregated part looks similar in shape to Italian Chapel? Plenty room tho......

I'm guessing it is an old iron Nissan hut or lots of bits off two or more from about 1938 along with lots of big six asbestos roof sheets on the other parts.
Plus some Pastisol wriggly tin and a couple of hunky girders for overhead lifting

Yep old corrugated iron nissen hut, I covered it in concrete some years ago so indeed it resembles the Italian Chapel. I installed the 2, 8"x4" upright RSJ's and 1 across the top for lifting car engines.

You wont be far out with date, amazing these structures are still standing, and in use 60 plus years on.............

Surprised me that some angle iron brackets that I welded on to the T iron ribs to hold shelves up rusted useless in a few years, the old nissen ribs are still good.
