I thought that was cheap as well - new set of jaws for the 21 was gonna be about the same price - so I went for a bigger vice with good jaws.

Bags of old tile grout and half a bag of old cement - when I made it. Poured a bit of water in it so it went off.

Then... It used to "creak" with change of temp - so I drilled a hole in it with a hole saw.

Then for years I been posting old sparkplugs thru the hole (I kid you not).

It's nearly full of used spark plugs now - workshop banter - keep filling the drum up with plugs.

Might in time be worth money - all the Platinum plugs in it...

Oil drum is good height for a bench - they are cheap - with a bit of 10mm plate they make a small welding table you can get earth clamps on and G clamps round the side - cheap solution....

Interesting, the base of the small one looks like it has some sort of a cam-lock ?
Can't see much from the photo, but does the base look like it could rotate ?

As these haven’t appeared in my scrap bin and I have to pay for them I’m interested in valuation otherwise it would just go into deep storage

Valuation as in selling it on, or for buying?

I try to never let emotion get in the way of buying, but then when something unusual comes along which borders on being as scarce as finding a Polar Bear in the Desert, I don't dither.

Have they suggested a price, or is it being left to you to offer? Hard to say with something like that, with it being different.

Personally, it'd have to be something really special for me to go above £50.

Plus, are you planning on keeping or selling will make a difference to what it's worth to you.

Probably a No 5, no quick release and the base is smaller.
