Damn it, it was worth a try! :-D Been after one for a while myself. One of only a few vices I still need to form my complete collection, so to speak (not literally, have very few from Germany in my 100+ collection).

What do you want to see? I think complete collection of Record Wood vices and a few others, but not that one above. Nearly complete collection of record standard engineering/bench vices except the 7 (ie 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8) with duplicates, and numerous others of various types including both a new/mint 25 and old/mint 25 and even a german watch maker vice about 140 years old and an aussie offset vice about 55kg and a brockhaus drill press vice and a small but very old brockhaus heuer bench vice (not the current design, one of the prior ones, but similar to current). Complete for record bench vice series would be a record number 7 - I've only seen a couple on UK ebay, one mint, one f***ed, but not seen one for a long time. I want it just for the sake of completion, but the number 8 I have is brand new (bought and stored, patina only, no damage/use/wear). and the 8 and 6 are the same size (have 3 6s, 1 vintage, 1 newer, can't recall the 3rd) and the 8 has the same foot print, dimensions, but wider jaws, and 30mm longer slide, the chode of the standard record line :-D
Would be interesting to see the watch maker's vice and other rarities you may have. Also, what do you consider to be the holy grail of your collection ?
The G Boley watch maker's vice is BEAUTIFUL but has had a hard life and some bad repairs. I don't know if it'll ever be 100% again, but I do plan to improve it. Most likely with TIG welding or brazing. It's palm of hand sized, but SO well made. It's a shame it was damaged being used for other purposes in the intervening 140 odd years but it is what it is. It was part of a pair I got for 25 local kopeks with bad photos, the other being an English clone of a larger G Boley style vice and I only realised what a gem it was when I ran some scotchbrite across the jaws and saw and researched the name. Very cool.
There are a lot of English clones of those early exquisite German high precision vices, but the only ones I'd call "for watches" are the legit ones. The G Boley company also made other tools/equipment like tiny precision lathes etc. Neat history behind it. :-) See the step on the jaw in yours? The jaws in the G Boley are DEAD smooth, like vintage Record 80 Imp jaws are (have 2 of those also).
Step or no step actually seems meaningless to me, as various high and low priced vices have this feature. As examples, my Auto-Vice, a couple of Columbian's, and a little no name but well made 1 1/2" clamp on vice I used to keep in my shooting field box all have this feature.
Yeah, its a Columbian, which has 3 1/2" wide jaws. I turned and milled reliefs for the swivel base locking handle chain to attach the new tapered pin I made for locking the movable jaw in centre position. Here are some before & after photos.
