I did read that as chimaera, scrolling down and seeing the picture I realise you are not sitting in a TVR, drive in movie style to watch the neighbours.

Thinking back I may have been calling those patio heaters by the wrong name for years, that might explain some odd conversations at BBQs I have visited.

There is a recovery Transit, a lit with lights. It is Not The yellow or the orange ones. Looks like a private company.
Do green flag send out local people?

i used the aa a few years ago they sent out another recovery company when i was broken down when fairly local to my house about 4 miles so yes the big boys do pay other companys depending on the job

and a mate called out the rac a few years ago for a flat he only had those foam canisters in the car the rac turned up took the wheel drove to localtyre place had repaired and got charged £80 from the tyre fitting place the rac so say did not make any money on it but when he cheack the cost of so said tyre he could have bought it for £50 had he drove in there so some one was making extra

I agree, but apparently it's not recommended, maybe just on motorways. Someone posted a link a few years back to the online driving theory test so I figured I'd have a go at it, see whether my knowledge was up to date. One question was "If you get a puncture on the motorway, what should you do?" and the response I selected was "change the tyre as quickly as possible and continue my journey." This was incorrect, I should have selected "call the breakdown service".

it was a tow home when they where chatting to the person on the phone i said the cars dead and prob going to be a tow so they sent a full recovery truck i did not even know untill the guy turned i did question him as to why
his reply your close to home so im local as you said you dought it will start eg not out of petrol flat tyre etc so for them to turn up and set up there big tow out the back of van takes time where i only have to drop the tow arm and strap on and we are on way

he was contracted by them but i did not ask but assume got paid a x fee with so meny miles so not worth sending out one of there own guys


bit of a good bloke to be fair the car was a peugeot 20? something he said at the time id bet its the coil pack and for £30 of the bay of thives it worth a shot before going to a garage so ordered one and yes the car started and run fine
he said they get loads of them

Well I rather do stuff at work but I just can’t be bothered with the cars unless I’m at home. If I was dirty I’d probably do it but I’m normally clean in my own vehicles.

Yes they do no matter who you phone in highland its still either Ross's garage, mora motors, Stevenson's or chisholms that is coming to get you around the inverness and fort William areas.

+1 for Ross’s - when I was still working they helped me out a few times with stranded drivers in the highlands

Aye, location too. Contracted garage up here - last time I used them [RAC] for a broken spring, I got a garage from Brora who took the car to my local garage.

Previous time was with a flat battery [my jump starter pack wasn't up to it as the battery had stopped taking a charge ] when visiting friends in Fraserburgh and it was a garage from Peterhead, c 18 miles away. Just jump started it and I went & bought a new battery.

Barely see the RAC or AA up this way.

I'm wiser now.... I think
